Stats:

32.5 inches
30 lbs (estimate) - we had to weigh me and then me holding him. He wouldn't
cooperate otherwise.
Head is consistant in the 90th percentile.

Alan had fun with the climbing gym in the office. But in the exam room he
was different. We had the young doctor in the practice again. He said 18
months is the peak of doctor anxeity and he wasn't worried. But Alan was a
grump.

We were asked about eating (milk, yogurt, fruits, veggies). (I guess he assumes carbohydrates are a given for toddlers). He also asked if the car seat was turned around (well, one is...I still haven't switched Mark's cars which is good rear facing to 30 lbs). He was concerned that Alan didn't have 10-20 words. He does seem to be communicating or trying to but its hard to hear "words". I don't know if it is because we have him in daycare and miss his talking or what. He said if he was doing 10-20 words in 3 months to call. (He was the same pediatrician who wanted Alan evaluated at 16 months for not walking, so I told him he was walking at 16 1/2).

He also wanted him off the bottle. I would like this also, but my sitter isn't good about this with her own kids (we've noticed this all along with her 4 year old, but we couldn't tell her what to do with her kid who is very nice in every other way.) I'll mention it again on Monday (doctor's orders). Then we'll try working him off at home. I know if he's thirsty enough he will drink from a sippy, but other wise will hold out for a bottle. I would really like him to take his AM juice with the vitamin in it without resorting to a bottle, as I don't want to force a vitamin drop down him either. It just may be hard to work on this now because of my upcoming RAI where Alan and Mark will have to stay at my MILs for a while. Then again, my MIL is very defferential to what I want done with Alan. She asks me most of the time what to do :) I think I should have pushed the sippy cup earlier but got messed up when Alan fell at 9 months. And the last few months have been stressful with me being sick, stuffs fallen by the wayside.

He had 2 shots. No more till age 4 unless we do a flu shot. I'll either see if I can get the flu shot at his 2 year checkup or via my allergist. (I think last year they wouldn't do flu shots on Saturdays, at least not the second.)
