I spoke to the vet about Moxie just now. He's doing much better, alert and eating. He's on prednisone 2x a day. The vet had no problem with Moxie coming home Monday even though I had the radioactive iodine treatment on Thursday. (The human hospital didn't seem to care much, I don't think their radiation safety people are animal people). I'll probably not be near Moxie that much for a few days, but he will be glad to be home. It's been a long week for him - first the ER vet overnight, then home and then in the regular vet for a week. I plan to make it a priority that Moxie gets his medicine. He's not easy to pill (he pushes the pill away from his mouth with his paw.) But Moxie's 15 1/2 and I want him around :)

I feel ok from my radioactive iodine treatment. A little tired, funny taste in my mouth and a little sore around where my thyroid was (all normal). I did manage to lose the filling I just had done last week, so my tooth hurts. (It may have come loose from the candy I had to suck after the treatment.) So Monday, I'll call the endocrinologist and ask when I can have that fixed. (He had previously told me to wait a month before other stuff like an eye exam). Sigh.

Interesting letter from the FDA to Ft. Dodge Pharmaceuticals (division of Wyeth) - makers of veterinary medicines

Moxie takes prednisone. I fill his prescription at my usual pharamcy. I'm glad its a "human" medicine after skimming this letter.
