I was reading the article below on a scientists critism of the FDA's handling of Vioxx:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/11/18/vioxx.reut/index.html

The scientist expressed concern about several other medications including Serevent. A little resarch turned up that the Advair diskus I use and Serevent seem to share a common ingredient.

Should I worry?

(Fortunately, my most important medication, my thyroid hormone pill is very safe (and cheap!))

Alan used to be very easy going as far as daycare went - happy to come happy to go. He also didn't get upset when people left the house without him.

He seems a little more upset (sometimes) when I leave him at daycare and more upset when people leave the house (he got briefly upset this AM when Mark left). I'm wondering if he's observed other children at daycare getting upset?

On the other hand he's definitely learning at school. Yesterday he was playing with his bead/wire toy which has train beads on it and saying choochoo. We'd never done that with him! (I hope he doesn't get intrested in toy trains yet as we have little room for tracks or a train table :( )

Some internet friends were upset by a recent Jay Leno joke. Apparently he was making fun of of a hands free breast pump advertisement where you could also talk on the phone - he'd quipped something about not needing a child. (I can't find the exact quote).

The comments that were made was that he was ignorant. Jay Leno is a man who has no children. He travels in very different circles and probably has very little idea as to why one uses a breast pump anyway or why hands free is very useful.

Before I had Alan, I had no clue about such things and in my circle am the only mom who breastfed (other mom's in our circle adopted children.) (Yes, I know adopted mom's can breastfeed, but I wasn't in a position of influence when those mom's adopted.)

Perhaps it would be better to educate Jay Leno about such things than just label him ignorant.

I had also heard Howard Stern had mention something about breastfeeding on his show, critizing a guest about not doing it - maybe it was a bit for shock value - but he did say his ex-wife had nursed their children and he isn't someone you expect to have any knowledge or interest in it all.

1. If you were a shoe, what would you look like?
Like my comfy black merrils, except in pink :)

2. If you were a t-shirt, what would you say?
I'm not sure what I'd say, but it would probably be a pink t shirt with a black cat on it.

3. If your house caught on fire and was burning to the ground...what is the one thing you'd save and why?
Assuming my family was safe, I'd save my computer.

4. If you were a book...would you read yourself?
I guess so. But I'd probably be a library book that wasn't checked out very much.

5. If you could do anything at all (without consequences), what would you do?
Quit my job :)

For breakfast I had very vanilla coffee with sweet and low and 1% milk and an onion bagel with butter purchased at the bagel place that's next to Alan's school and the bus stop.

I haven't thought about my 50th birthday. I still have 7.5 years to plan :) For my 40th we had friends come to a party at my MILs (due to lack of space at our condo). Hopefully by my 50th we'll have a bigger home of our own - I do like birthday parties and gifts, while my DH isn't into either of them much.

Never had them. I've seen them occasionally but never tried them.

I'd probably like them with cheese though!

I do like biscuits and gravy :)
