After a busy morning, we stopped at my MILs on the way to my cousins. Alan had a lot of fun drawing with his aunt Jackie. My MIL still had the old crayons and pens my husband and SIL had used in the 1970's - even some Bic Banana Pens! They got him an easel for Chanunka, I think he'll like it. (I'll put away some of the paint and art supplies that came with it for a bit though.)

Dinner was at my cousin's house. But it was weird. My cousin and his younger son (age 8) had gone to the Galapagos Islands (some sort of school trip). Their plane was late, they would not be in till 10. His older son and daughter were there (ages 13 and 7). Also his ex-wife (friendly divorce), my grandmother and her aide Crystal (who turned out to be a trekie). Alas, my cousins' wife split from her ex-chef boyfriend :( - so she roasted a turkey, and the rest was catered by whole foods as usual. My grandmother (95) isn't doing well. Her feet are swollen, she is weak, but I think is in heart failure. She tries to be spunky (and was going to make turkey soup from the frame) but her body can't keep up. It's sad. I hope Alan will remember her, at least a little :(

We got home and Alan wouldn't sleep. We ended up crashing with him at 11 PM.

This morning we got up early. We woke Alan at 5:15 for Black Friday. First stop staples, got the DVD's we wanted and a few other freebies/near freebies. Then onto Compusa to get a DVD burning program for 9.99. I waited in line forever and it rang up wrong. So I had to get an adjustment. Alan fell asleep in the car and Mark was grouchy waiting. Then to Best Buy to get a DVD for a gift for tommorrow. Mark thought they'd be out. They weren't and the line was fast - afterwards I took Alan over to Toys R Us - but Mark didn't hear me. Alan and I got the first leap pad. He was interested in the doodle pro, and we both checked out the Hot Wheels Slimecano on display (way too old for him). We ended up going back to look for Mark who hadn't heard us leave.

Then off to Macy's to use the 10.00 off coupon. We had 2, but just used one on socks for Mark. He got 6 pairs for 5.00 or so after the coupon and 25% off discount. I was too tired to figure out how to get ladies socks that were over 10.00 (because they were on sale) to get them cheap, so we left. (The idea was to come as close to 10.00 as possible :)) Came home, Mark did some banking, Alan and I went to Shoprite to get bread for dinner at my MILs later (which I forgot - but got other stuff we needed) and I had to do banking (and get coffee!). Came back, tried to do the Staples rebates (system too slow). Stopped again to get bread and an item for my SIL.

Arrived at my MILs where Mark's uncle and aunt were as well as my SIL. Alan had gotten cranky and fell asleep on the way over. He seemed clingy and didn't want to eat lunch. I was installing microsoft office and trying to get the DVD copy program to work (it didn't...and I didn't get the original dvd player to work on autorun as I'd set it the other day.) Anyway Mark laid down with him and he fell asleep. I'm not sure what happened - but somehow he threw up in his sleep on the bed. He was up and upset and after removing his sweats (had a onesie underneath) - he fell asleep again on the living room floor (I got him a blanket). I hadn't brought extra clothes, but found some stuff to grow into in my MILs garage where I store stuff. He was warm when we left, I was worried that he was sick. (I think he's thrown up maybe 2x ever!)

Got home, he looked sadly at his toys. Gave him motrin + a little juice. He drank that so I gave him pedialyte which he drank too. He did a #2 (kind of hard even) and he perked up. It was like he hadn't been sick. He didn't eat much for dinner, but he did want cereal, so I let him have some fruit loops with a tiny bit of milk. He nibbled at a muffin and a pretzel.  Before we went to put him to bed, I was in the other room - Mark was with him - he saw the leappad and said open box! He's really getting responsive now and will answer with yes or no to things including going to bed!

(And I managed to sneak a gymboree order in at my MILs, with a little help from my SIL, as that was the one store I didn't get to today I wanted to go to!)

I have been to the supermarket 4 times in the past 3 days. I do bank and fill prescriptions there, but that seems like a lot. Good thing it is 5 minutes away.

I suspect I'll go tommorrow again, to use the ATM if nothing else!
