Busy few days
Saturday - Rained, so we stayed home. I went out to Shoprite to get a prescription and for triple coupons. I got wet! Our friend Alfred came over, we went out to eat at Charlie Brown's. We managed to get seated next to the salad bar. However, Alan's macaroni and cheese got dried out - but he was full on cucumbers, olives and raisin bread and didn't care - and he ate a little anyway. Then we helped Alfred put up a Jewish singles personal ad - he's not very computer literate (but a nice guy) and we took a photo with the digital camera for him.
Sunday - We went to Big Lots and Dollar Tree. Got everything I needed for Alan's goody bags for his party - I just need to assemble them now.
Monday - Mark had to work so it was just Alan and I. We went to get haircuts. Surprisingly it wasn't busy at the kid's place. I got a haircut also while Alan was at the train table as I needed it. We stopped at Panera Bread (muffie for Alan, cafe mocha for me) and browsed a few stores. I exchanged a duplicate Thomas train at Buy Buy Baby and tried to use a 60% off coupon at Michaels a few stores down, only to find out our Michael's doesn't carry Thomas trains. So I used it on a Dora colorforms. I
Then we went to the Children's musem. (Sorry no photos, camera batteries were low, I forgot to check before we left). Alan seemed to want to either watch the model train display or play with the train/car tables they had. I wished he done more activities (we have trains at home) but I think he had a good time - although he did run off once and I went crazy looking for him. (The museum is about 1/3 of a large 1 floor office building, it's all interconnected rooms). On the way home I treated Alan to KFC. He got a laptop meal, I got a chicken pot pie. I don't get why the laptop meal has cheetos in it - chicken strips, granola bar and side item really don't need them. And of course, Alan ate that first!
Tuesday - I went to a meeting at the White Plains office. Sort of a gripe session and some warm and fuzzy stuff to take away. It was interesting find people at all 4 of our NY area offices have similar issues with management, it isn't just me! When I got home Alan wanted to watch Thomas. When dinner was ready, we told him NO TV - he really, really melted down. He must have been very tired, we got him to bed before 8. Mark and I want to have him watch less TV and eat dinner with us, not in the living room and to try to eat something nutritous - all he ate tonight was some cheese :(
Back to the usual stuff tommorrow, off Thursday for Yom Kippor. Strange week!
