Alan woke up this morning screaming. Don't know why - he ran in and out of his room and slammed doors. He said I want Thomas and I'd put the DVD on before he started screaming. I'm wondering if he saw I'd moved the box of Thomas stuff because the cable tv guy is coming today (it's usually right under the TV). I got him dressed etc but he just didn't seem happy even with his Thomas shirt on. Must of been one of those days for him.

When you ask Alan about school he was saying "pegboard" and if you asked him what color it is he said "yellow". Since I wasn't sure what he was talking about I e-mailed his teacher. She and I exchanged e-mails and she filled me in as to what it was. Of course, the one in school came from the school supply store that closed the closest branch this past week - but I think we can go to the other store nearby and find one that's similar. I really appreciate her telling me all about it.

The pegboard is similar to this one:

I was thinking of this sort of pegboard before she'd explained:

Other than that I'm still waiting on software and it's a slow day. I'll drop in briefly on a co-worker's leaving party (rare for me, but she's going to the London office and I like her) and head home later.

The post office wound up sending my package back to Naartjie in California. I wrote them a nasty note - if they'd gotten the address right I would have had the package by now.

They have cute clothes, but since they've become more popular they need to have a real online site and not have you call or e-mail each individual store to make an order.

Our list home of many years, the listserv at St. John's university is going away - I guess St. John's wants out of the list business.

There has been a new group created on yahoo - named "Women30s". Please join us over there.

Thanks and if it weren't for some of you, I wouldn't have joined LJ and met many new friends (and refound some old ones!)

Rosie's diner sold

I live in the town where the diner used to be. It was gone when I moved there in 1999. Adjacent to where it used to be (or maybe on the spot where it was) was a restaurant called Rosie's (or Rosie's Steakhouse). I never went in it, but took the bus occasionally from the stop next to it. I recently noticed the name had been changed to O'Kims Steakhouse - weird but perhaps it was now owned by a Korean family as there are a large number in our town. (We have the H-Mart Korean grocery across from it). But the other day I saw it was empty and had a for sale sign on it.

Maybe someone should move the diner back?

New digital cable is neat. Trying to figure out how to work the remote when your three year old is screaming in your ear (because the program the guide said was on wasn't on) is not fun.

Still trying to figure out how to program the remote - it doesn't seem to work with my VCR/DVD and I can't get the TV and cable box off and on at the same time even following the instructions? Will have to check the website.

My friend who was expecting twins had them yesterday. Brandon Joshua and Scott Daniel - 6 lbs 8 oz and 5 lbs 14 oz respectively - they are fraternal twins (I asked). Mother and babies are doing well. She plans to have everyone over in about a month after she gets settled with motherhood. Looking forward to meeting them and holding a little baby again.
