Last week I ordered some sale items from Naartjie. I wanted them delivered to my office in NYC - zip code 10036.

Well, as it turns out they have been attempted to be delivered to an address in zip code 10013 and are now sitting in the 10013 post office. There are TWO 10013 post offices (neither being near me). You can't call them - both of the numbers are not in service. I ended up calling the 800-ASK-USPS number and filing a complaint yesterday. The package was attempted to be redelivered yesterday and is still sitting in the 10013 post office, so I called again today.

I wish I could find the e-mail for the US Postmaster general, I'd blast him. (Hey, it works for other companies...why not the postal service!)

The post office just sent someone here to PICK UP A PACKAGE!

I'm trying to get one delivered! I'm arguing with a supervisor now, at least someone has found out the listed phone numbers don't work!!!!!

And the post office has the worst voice response system - I'm saying "help" "help" "human being" into the phone and got my co-workers alarmed.

And after speaking to a supervisor, I got on hold and got disconnected!

I am really, really p*ssed off right now!

Dreamt about pregnancy last night. Doesn't surprise me though - my friend is having her twins today and my boss is coming back from maternity leave today so it's just my subconscious at work.

Alan was crabby this AM, as usual. I so wish he'd sleep in his room all night. It's getting crowded in the bed, and he'd be able to sleep later in the morning. And I wish he'd just watch TV and not ask for DVD's. I have to find both remotes and make sure the DVD's don't have fingerprints.

So we left late. I ended up tripping when I got out of the car after I parked it near the bus stop. And the bus was late also. So I was in late. Software we need to test isn't ready - and the one customer requested urgent fix can't be tested because the software to test it doesn't work (and I've been complaining about that forever.)

And we are going to my MILs tonight so I can get her CD/DVD working. I hope I can fix whatever is wrong (no auto play and CD's won't copy (it's not a copy protection issue as far as I know)).

But some good news.

Alan's forehead boo boo is healing. He seems to be leaving the bandaid on (also notes to his teachers helped). He's been promised a train (he wants Murdoch) when he heals. (Every time he cries I want Murdoch, I keep thinking of the character from the A-Team!)

And my companies insurance finally did one thing right - we can get our flexible spending account reimbursements directly deposited! I sent a thank you e-mail to HR instead of a complaint!

The package *IS* at the 10013 post office because it was addressed to 180 Sixth Avenue not 1180 Sixth Avenue. I have someone from the 10036 post office who will try to get the package either delivered to me or sent back. The 10036 post office did apologize for sending someone out to pick up a package.

I also sent off an e-mail to Naartjie (the stoneridge store) about this mix up as this wasn't the first time they've goofed - they once sent a package home and not to work. (It goes to the office for a reason!) Next time, I'll use a different store.

Well, my package will get to my office after several calls to the helpful 10036 post office (they talked to 10013).

I wrote a complaint to Naartjie about using the wrong address (180 6th Avenue is not the same as 1180 6th Avenue).

Went to my MILs - got her CD and DVD auto playing again. I also showed her how to use the print button on her scanner to copy stuff - and I think the DVD copying works - it was just too slow to complete it before Alan's bedtime.

Alan actually went to bed fairly nicely tonight also for a change. Still doesn't brush his teeth :(

And I was able to get the toilet brush I'd jammed (no, not Alan's fault) in the toilet out without having to empty the toilet. It's clean and running smoothly now!

Sigh :)
