Capitol One to Accquire North Fork Bank

I've been using the same bank branch in the supermarket since 1999.

First it was CFS Bank.
Then it was Trust Company of New Jersey (some branches were sold to them).
Then it became North Fork Bank
Now Capitol One!

The world of finance moves too fast!

Friday night our friend Dave came over. I was so tired and unsocial. But he left after we helped him resort his tax papers and I copied red hat cd's for him.

Saturday I got up, couldn't find my glasses, so I had to wear my old transitions pair. First we went to the Meadowlands Fleamarket - nice day. Mark and I split up - he stayed with a friend, Alan and I wandered off - We actually found a thomas train (one wooden cargo car - it was in a box with toy cars and it was only 1.00). I also found him 1 pair of jeans and a pair of shorts. I tried looking at other stuff but if you got too near certain things (like shoes) he'd scream. (He hates looking at shoes for some reason). He did like the 2 pickles on a stick I got him.

Later while he and Mark were napping, I went to try to go to Goodwill. Turns out they are closed due to fire/water damage( this is the one in Bergenfield). People left stuff outside though - I did peek through it, but didn't take. (I did post it on freecycle, so they wouldn't get ruined in the rain to come Sunday). Stopped at target on the way home. Was very dull and got diapers and lightbulbs only. Then we went to my MILs house for dinner. I then took Alan for a haircut (#7 of his life-all at the kids place). they also trimmed my bangs and around my face.

Sunday we were going to go to the Englishtown flea market. But it was icky out. So we decided to meet a friend at Hometown buffet. We stopped at a target to use up some time, I got cereal, tolietries and a nail clipper (again, boring). decided not to get the Thomas sneakers for Alan, as they might not fit due to his arched feet. Our friend bought a NEW house in North Carolina (Holly Springs). She will move in the fall. Houses are so cheap there...sigh.

Came home, Alan wouldn't nap, but Mark and I did. Alan got wild later in the day as we didn't do much but laundry and read. But I got him to bed fairly easily. I did find my glasses while doing laundry. But Alan was playing around and grabbed them and broke the arm. So I need new ones - eye doctor appointment is next week I think.

Slow day at work. I'm trying to diet with having a diet shake for lunch. I'm so hungry still. I also found out Alan will be in the district preschool next year - either in the PSD class he is in now or in one of the 10 slots in the inclusive preschool. Oddly enough he wouldn't get in the inclusive class this year as he was born 10/15 and the cut off is 10/1.

Back to work. Or some attempt of.

I offered to sell some stuff for a friend who needed the $.

Lately it's been a big flop.

First of all, she's been hard to get in touch with - I needed help pricing, plus a few items probably won't sell so I didn't list them.

Then I had problems with the last few items I sold for:

- Someone decided to send a money order for the item - told me just before I filed for a refund. So I'm waiting now for it.
- I packed up 3 little resin bears. I didn't do such a good job, two arrived broken. Now I have to figure out how to handle filing an insurance claim on them
- Lastly a mouse pad arrived with a little tear on it - it probably wasn't packed well, but the others I shipped didn't get torn.

I give up. I think I'd give her back the rest of the stuff if she weren't near eviction and having nowhere to put it (at least it's a small box).
