Questions I never answered
Mar. 15th, 2006 10:30 am1. Friends
Do you have lots of friends, or just a few good ones? What makes someone a good friend for you?
I guess I have a lot of close aquaintances, but not many true close friends. A good friend is someone who will help you in a time of need and likes to do things with you.
2. Sex
Was your 'first time' a good experience?
(I probably shouldn't type this at work <g>). Yes, it was. It was freshman year in college. And in a weird quirk it was on my parents 20th anniversary (not that they knew). Long lost touch with him though,
3. Music
Who was the first band/singer you completely loved?
My Long Island roots are showing - I'd say Billy Joel. But I've never seen him in concert. I was supposed to the April before Alan was born, but he cancelled and rescheduled till October too close to my due date. He's doing about a zillion concerts at Madison Square Garden in NYC this spring but that's hard for me to go to at night and get home late. I'd prefer he play the Meadowlands (10 minutes from my house), but I guess he's skipping that arena and leaving them for Bruce Springsteen or Bon Jovi (NJ natives). No, I've never seen them either.
4. Drugs
What medications are you taking now? How's your health, in general?
Medicine: Levoxyl (thyroid), Advair (asthma), Restasis (dry eye), Zoloft (depression), Xanax XR (anxiety) and Zytrec or Actifed for allergies.
My health is ok, I think all the thyroid cancer is gone (either surgically or nuked). There is one little spot that I think they are watching, but it is very tiny. I kind of think of it as a chronic condition, unlike most cancers. Using my Advair more regularly has helped with breathing - I can read to Alan for longer periods of time. But I've gained a lot of weight lately, probably from overeating. I do think my triglicerides were high at my last blood test, but blood pressure is ok. (Actually if you ran bloodwork on me, my TSH would be consided abnormal, but it is kept that way to prevent the thyroid (good or bad) from growing back.)
5. Love
If you could give advice to someone who has never found love, from your experience, what would that be?
Well, if they are looking for it, I would advise do not do anything you don't like just to meet people. That doesn't work. (I remember going to Jewish singles volleyball and not having a good time, while there are other singles events where I didn't meet anyone but would do again (Delaware River Tubing was one of them).
6. LiveJournal
I'll repeat a question I was asked: have you ever seriously thought about leaving LJ? Why did you, and why did you decide to stay (a decision we're all very glad for!)?
No, I've never thought about leaving entirely. I'm a low drama person - I've cut a few people here and there and been befriended by others for their own reasons. I've left a few communities I've outgrown (pregnancy, breast feeding) but usually just skim things I don't care for.
I am even on cat lists I joined nearly a decade ago when I had my 2 cats, I just can't seem to admit I won't have one anytime soon.
