I'm sleeping next to Alan, I hear him cry.
I ask him what's wrong.
He says TV broken!
I told him everything was ok, he went back to sleep.

I asked him today what the nightmare was about - he said Pink and Blue (his favorite Pink Panther Cartoon) was broken.

(He actually calls all Pink Panther cartoons Pink and Blue - the first one he saw involved a pink and blue paint fight!)

Alan gets picked up after 6 PM from daycare. There are usually only a few children there and 2 staffers. Lately, the staffers have been college age girls as there are a few on vacations.

Monday, I saw a note up that after 6 the children will be sent to the lobby, no one is to come in. Well, they let me in anyway and said they’d had problems with a parent.

So, I called the director to see why things changed. It turns out one of the fathers was apparently trying to get the girls phone numbers to ask them out! So she put up the new rule because of that father – it won’t be a problem for anyone else the staffers know – we can still get inside to pick up our children.

Alan’s first words this AM after I let him in the bathroom after he knocked were Go away stupid mommy! No idea where that came from. He hasn’t been good with good morning – his first words are usually about turning on TV!

Alan has a waterslide today at daycare. Wish I could go!

It was cooler this morning – I could drink hot coffee without melting. I guess the storms that rolled through around 10:00 last night brought the heat down. It was weird to see after the storm passed a severe thunderstorm warning had been posted right for my area. Guess they got it right for once!

Alas, I think my computer took a hit from the heat – I’m getting CPU0 fan errors – I cracked open the case a bit and ordered a new fan from eBay for 12.00 shipped. Cheaper than a new computer – I can’t believe mine is 4 years old already. Need to get the USB case for that spare hard drive for backups!

I almost had a free lunch yesterday. Chilipolte (a Mexican chain) is opening nearby and yesterday you could get a free burrito and soda (I guess to train the staff). But there was a huge line and it was too hot wait. So I bought salad.

I never did write about Saturday. Suffice it to say it was a busy/stressful day. My husband had trouble with electronic transactions (my idea) and got upset. It hadn’t started good – Dunkin Donuts screwed up my iced coffee – all syrup, no coffee it seemed. But I did see my friends (fraternal) twins who were around 7 months old. They are cute. But babyhood seems so long ago with Alan’s – it was like I’d been there, did that, and not again.

Sunday was a lazy day, lots of laundry and a swim. Alan won’t wear a swim vest or swimmies. I’m trying to get him to float but he’s not interested. He will put his face in the water and blow bubbles though.

Still no luck getting Alan to eat better or be interested in toilet training. Sigh.

My fancy new Nokia 6101 camera phone fell into a puddle at the company picnic. Alas, Nokia considered it water damage and wasn't covering it under warantee. I didn't want to spend 100.00 for a repair, so they will send it back.

So I dug back out the Nokia 3390 that it replaced. I got a new battery for it as I'd replaced the phone due to it losing charge a lot. And it works now. I just have to replace my car charger as I'd trashed it. Feels weird to roll back to a less fancy phone, but it does work. Sometimes old reliable is better than the latest and greatest.

But I still need to upgrade my Olympus digital camera.
