Random stuff

Never did finish what I wanted to write about the weekend. Sunday night we went to visit my cousin. We ended up going to the local ice cream place - Alan enjoyed playing with his second cousins and waited more or less patiently to get the ice cream. His second oldest child is getting Bar Mitzvahed next June - the ceremony AND party will be in his backyard and Alan will be old enough to come. (We have another one in March, but don't think Alan will go to that - the backyard one will be easier to remove Alan if he gets restless.)

We also saw his ex-wife and their new resue greyhound. She was friendly (the dog) but Alan is still scared of dogs, especially bigger ones. I showed him a yorkie while we were waiting for ice cream and Alan was still scared alas. (Alan was jumped on by a retriever size dog - a friendly one - but I think that scared him...since we can't get a dog now, I'd like to unscare him somehow - ideas?)

We ended up getting the bedroom set, but not the entertainment center - too big and the wrong color. Turns out I'll have to put the big dresser in a different spot than my old one is. This change has inspired me to rearrange stuff in the house and declutter which is good. We also have to get Alan a full size bed in HIS room so he will stop sleeping with us on the sofa or our bed - he won't use the toddler bed now. Although we loved co-sleeping having to lie down with him is getting old.

HR is still going to get griped at about the health insurance. I have some specific questions that need to be asked of United Healthcare. I hope HR can find me someone to talk to and I don't have to wait till 9/1.

Today I woke up early and couldn't sleep. I wonder if I was excited about my bonus. If I could figure out WHICH digital camera to get, I'll get one.

Anyway time for lunch!
