Inginuity

So last night I went to Target with Alan. I needed the printout of my prescriptions to submit to insurance before it changes at the end of the month. So we got that. He was content to sit in the cart while we shopped as long as we saw Thomas in toys and I gave him a few things to amuse him (Thomas books, Lightning McQueen car).

I ended up getting him size 11 1/2 Thomas skate sneakers (cute), a pair of blue windpants, diaper wipes and a Bulgy thomas take along bus. (I saw the new plastic takealong track which looks nicer). But Target now carries the cheap Tomy Thomas battery operated trains and track (blue plastic), just like Walmart does.

We also saw some Lightning McQueen shirts in boys. Alan wanted a red one. But they were out of XS. So I wandered over to the toddler stuff (target is making much cuter toddler boys stuff now) and found one in a 5T! Alan was happy! (5T overlaps with XS which is a 4/5).

He's wearing the shirt today with matching socks with Lightning McQueen on them and navy shorts. Looks really cute. He has 3 different cars t shirts and 2 pair of socks - why - because *I* like it :) (I need something in my size!)

We also found out Mark's uncle and So are up for a visit this weekend :) I'm looking forward to that.

Alan's birthday

So far I am going with the party in the park at the end of the street idea. This allows me to invite children from both programs - the daycare and the public school one + our friend and her son without stressing about size.

I have to pick a date and a theme. Possible themes are Cars, Thomas or Sponge Bob. The supermarket down the street doesn't make a Thomas cake (or didn't last year). I like the idea of cars because I could find inexpenive car stuff for a goody bag (not just movie stuff).

I wonder if I'd have to organize games - or just let the kids play on the playground. And I'd have to have a date and rain date.

I have a little time to decide.

I also wonder if I could print invites on my printer - what software I would need.
