Catchup on things....
Mar. 16th, 2007 01:25 pmBecause of the bad weather here in NJ, DH and I are working from home today. Alan's in daycare - he had a short public school program (1/2 the time as the district was closing mid-day) and his daycare is closing at 5. DH and I work well from home, except when he ties up the DSL saving his HUGE files. He just uses excel, but I have to be connected to my application alas.
Alan's been slipping a bit in staying dry at school. Yesterday he was very bad - apparently didn't use the potty. Not sure why, he's ok with #1 at home (if you remind him). He came home in the schools spare pants - a pair of shorts! The day before, they didn't see his spare pants at daycare and he came home sporting bright blue flaired leggings/yoga pants (from Children's Place). He actually liked them - even when I told him they were girl pants. (Actually, they fit him better than some of HIS pants!)
Anyway. last night he had no TV and no cars. I had to get a haircut and grab some groceries. When I got home DH had fun playing with him - he can deal with no TV after the initial complaints.
He is doing well academically - he got a dinosaur from his teacher for counting up to 20 (or so he told me).
Yesterday morning when I dropped Alan at the sitter's - there was a HUGE flock of birds in a nearby tree - I'd never HEARD so many. I asked Alan what they might be talking about - his first answer was "Bird Racing!"
My work is ok these days. My project for May got postponed to August, so I have a lighter load for the next release. But I have to get this "White Paper" done today. Blech :(
By the way, Dress Barn will send me a 25.00 gift card after I complained about the defective pants to the higher ups. That's about what the pants cost, so I'm happy.
After I'm done for the day, I'll do laundry. It piles up around here, I so wish I had my own machine and not sharing the pay one. Someday I will.
