Haven't had a chance to update on this and that lately

Yesterday morning Alan and I were off to daycare - and what did I see going the otherway on the street - the @!#*!@# truck that backed into my car recently (recognized the company on it AND the plate). Ironically, the check from my insurance company was with me ready to be deposited to the bank.

Last week during the storm I cleaned out my closet and yesterday finally box stored my winter stuff. I'm slowly weeding out stuff it seems which is good. Now if I could just be motivated to diet and fit into clothes

Work has been hectic. Boss was on vacation. We have lots of different versions that have fixes to be tested and not enough hardware setups to get the software on. We promise 24 hour turn around times out of our department, it shouldn't take 5 days to get an environment set up!

The biggest news is we are planning a move. We are seriously considering switching houses with my MIL. So the 3 of us will be in the house DH grew up in, and my MIL will move into the condo. I'm not sure how we will do it legally (we need it done to handle the taxes and also allow Alan to attend school in the new location). It's only 15 minutes away, a smaller 3 bedroom house with a partially finished basement. But the basement has some water issues which I'd like fixed - my MIL is getting estimates now. Most of the other work needed in the house is smaller scale - a deck needs replacing, the garage door is stuck and the driveway needs paving. It will need some updating decorating wise also. But as I told DH, we wouldn't find too many houses with a very well known history - it dates from the 50's, DH and family moved in to it in 1966 (not sure if second or later owner of the house). It will take time to make the changes, plus I want to keep Alan with his good teacher one more year, so he'll start kindergarden in the new district.

Last weekend we visited a friend with dogs - her mellow beagle/basset and a hyper black and white habernese she was dog sitting (she does it for a living). Alan freaked at them, so we ended up sitting on her back porch for most of the visit. Sigh. I hope he can get unscared of dogs (doesn't have to like them, just not get hysterical around them.) I think that's his 2nd worst problem after not sitting on the potty for #2.

An interesting list of new music can be found here. We've heard a few things on it: Arcade Fire, Mika, Air (DH heard them). We also recognize a few other artists on it, and will check out some of the others. It's a pretty electic mix on the list - jazz to folk to pop.

We had our annual condo meeting last night. As usual something funny came up. Someone complained about the adjacent cemetary and being able to see it from their 3rd floor apartment. Well, it was there when they moved in. They also worried about soil washing into our parking lot and coffins being unearthed! (Another year, a neighbor suggested investing the condos reserves in high tech funds - this was right before the tech stock crash, fortunately they didn't do that!) Anyway, despite our problems with our neighbor, they do keep the place reasonably well maintained and a low maintenance fee. And this year again the pool is FREE - no additional fee. (Alan's happy to hear this!)
