Found another cool radio station online to add to our list:

www.wxrv.com - alternative radiostation out of Boston (really Haverhill) Mass

One radio station that kind of reminds me of "Chris in the Morning" from Northern Exposure is at http://www.radioshenandoah.com. I learned about it from a Washington Post columnist -- his angle was that it's one of the few totally locally owned small-town stations left anymore.

Be aware, though, that if you don't care for the "Big Band" sound, you'll find it boring....

Per your recommendation, I am listening to XRV right now (it reminds me of a Chicago station I like that actually is XRT) and loving it.
