Haven't posted much lately. All 3 of us have rotten colds (thank you Alan).
Thursday night
lucisous_purple stopped by on her way home. We all ate at a Chinese buffet. Unfortunately Alan seemed to be more interested in the fish tank than his food (what a change from his baby days of eat eat and cheescake!). The fish in the tank looked just like the fish for the number 5 in "Ten Little Ladybugs". He's so smart! I took Alan to the doctor on Thursday to confirm it was just a cold. Did get good advice on moisturizing his dry skin and using baby oil in his bath (seems to have helped a lot) - I wouldn't have gone just for that, but it didn't hurt to ask while there.
New Year's Eve we had about 10 people here including Alan's "cousin" Jeff. They played together very well running, chasing and crawling. Both made till midnight, Alan didn't get to bed till almost 1 AM... he didn't sleep late either. We had a mixed group of people including a friend of a friend (we'd met him once). Not wanting to let anyone be alone on New Year's Eve, we let him come. Everyone had a good time. The only sad thing was a few people either called their parents (or their child called) around midnight. I have no one to call :(
The last 2 days I've made 2 runs to the supermarket - one with and one without Alan. That's it for doing anything except laundry. Alan was bored, he mostly watched Nick (I did put in his Dora DVD and then he kept asking for it over and over). He did say "ahhreed" so we did read him books. And I let him color and play with toy cars (he likes to drop them off the little plastic kitchen he has). I need to get rid of toys and find storage for the rest in the next few weeks. Never did get to work on trying to get him to sleep without us over break - but did learn if you put him down closer to 12:30 for a nap he sleeps much better.
We've had some stress with a large bank check that arrived late on New Year's Eve. We stuck in the bank, in checking NOT savings - only to find out it will take way too long to clear and we will lose interest (nothing will bounce, this was being shifted between banks). So we've e-mailed the bank. I hate dealing with financial stuff - my husband gets so agressive and fixated on the stuff.
Alan got a haircut on Wednesday, so his curls are gone for now - but I think they'll grow back.
As far as my mess with the Children's Book of the Month Club, I got the correct book on Thursday. I was told they'd send a mailer to send the other books back, but not yet. I've not gotten anything yet other than canned e-mail, I do hope someone addresses the situation Monday.
As of the 2nd, I've been at my job for 3 years. Can't believe it. Still looking for one in NJ.
