We haven't been up to much lately.

Saturday we went outlet shopping with my MIL and SIL. Basically Alan was the only one who got anything at Carter's. Nothing fit my SIL - she's tall, long armed, and likes certain colors. All of the stuff we saw was either the wrong color or cut tight and short :(

Sunday - Mark and I went to visit my 95 year old grandmother. She's not going do well, she's weak (heart failure) and on a nasal oxygen tube. It's hard to see her like that in bed at home - she's still very sharp though. I hope she gets better, but her feistiness isn't quite there. No more 4 pm drinks for her (she used to have her rye at 4 PM - she's a character).

Yesterday - we stayed home. A friend stopped by. We got a little stuff done as far as cleaning goes. But Mark and I and Alan were on each other's nerves it seems. He has a habit of either expecting me to fix everything or he'll talk to me when I can't hear (either because of the room I'm in, the tv being on or Alan in the bath or screaming). Alan was cranky and wanted only bannana (he ate 4) or cookies. Alan's also taking forever with bedtime. He won't stay in the room so Mark or I lie with him. And when I'm with him, he often kicks the bed or me. I think we are going have to do a modified cry it out so he stays in the bedroom at night. He sleeps in our bed and not the toddler bed next to it - I'll deal with that one later. I suspect by summer we will HAVE to either move or move things around so he has the 2nd bedroom as his room (it's the office now). Mark doesn't want to move but I personally think we will have to at some point, even without being packraty, we'd be tight in this condo. I'm frustrated about this - I feel stuck with work and in a small house (we've put getting a vacation house on hold for now, nothing is in a price range we can handle - they are either too old and small, or too big and expensive - basically either a vacation crash pad or a fancy new(er) house. there are very few older, bigger not trashed places :( ).

Still need to ship my latest eBay auctions. I hear a lot of gossip about people quitting with the latest fee increases or moving to other sites - overstock, wagglepop, auctionflair ... since I dabble I don't know what I'll do. I may just sell on the kids clothes lists/loops since that's free.

Actually the LJ outage didn't really affect me much. We were busy and I had a lot of e-mail to catch up on. But it did worry me that they suffered such a catastrophic crash - Internap owes LJ an explaination (out of curiosity does anyone know where the data center is?) I really should back up my journal though.

And on top of things my husband's printer died (a replacement has been ordered)and the 2nd bathroom toilet is broken - we will attempt fixing it this weekend.

Sorry to hear that about your grandmother. She sounds like a great person, and you are so lucky to have her around still!

Did you see the thing where you can get your paid account extended for two weeks because of the LJ outage?

Did the 2 week extension. Pretty generous of LJ. I bet if eBay went down that long, they'd never do that (and that would cost users money for lost auctions.)

Hope your grandma gets better, yeah.

Have you ever been to the Gymboree outlet? I was thinking about trying to convince my husband to make the trek to get some stuff for Hannah, but I don't want to go if it's not worth it, you know? Kind of a hike for us.

The Gymboree outlet in Long Island is a hike for me (over 90 minutes at least with traffic).

I haven't heard the deals are that great there though. You might want to ask at www.gymborebel.com about it because people have gone there (or at least to the Michigan one).

Hm. Okay, thanks. Maybe I'll ask around, but we'll probably pass. It's close to three hours for us, and the deals have to be GOOD for me to drive that far. ;)

If you can get Alan to sleep in his own bed, now's the time to do it...Hannah still comes in the middle of the night to sleep with me, and she's 7. To be honest, I just gave up.
