Thoughts on the tragedy.

It is very sad that 7 lives were lost and it did put a sadness into my weekend. I found out via e-mail, and did see a little of it on TV. My son Alan (3 months old) has a 6-9 month size sleeper with the nasa logo on it I got as a "goof" as we belong to a sci-fi/star trek club and I thought it would be cute for him to wear to a meeting. I feel weird now about him wearing it, but I think he will wear it (when it fits) as a tribute.

The tragedy isn't affecting *ME* the same way 9/11 did. I worked across from the trade center but luckily was in NJ on jury duty that day. Although I know sci-fi/space oriented people - I'm not working for Nasa nor likely to fly in a shuttle.

I don't envy the cleanup because of the area that has to be searched. I wonder if there are tiny things that may be missed (like a screw). Since the WTC *imploded* the area to cleanup (not the amount) was a lot less - if they'd exploded and debris scatted, it would have been an enormous job. It is very sad that remains were found, but it does provide a sad closure for the families :(
