When I dropped Alan off at school this AM, I found out the district preschoolers (there is a partnership to sponsor the preschool with the town) are going pumpkin picking today. Apparently there was a lack of parents available to go. Alan wasn't eligible for this program as his birthday was after the 10/1 cutoff, but if he'd been eligible I would have loved to go, and taken lots of photos for everyone. Maybe next year.
I passed where Melissa Etheridge gave a concert this morning outside Good Morning America. I just can't get myself out early enough to make these concerts, I'd probably have to leave home by 7.
Surprisingly, I passed a nicely dressed woman this morning using a Kangaroo Korner fleece sling. I complimented her on it - that's the one I wish I'd gotten for Alan (not the bulky Over the Shoulder Baby holder). I do occasionally see a mom with a sling or other carrying device around and am pleased to see them. (There's a foreign mom (I think oriental) in my town who has some sort of back tying carrier - those make me nervous that they'll undo.)
My husband's car runs great now. This is good as he'll be commuting 5 days a week till the end of the year to make deadlines. I miss the days when he worked 1-2 days a week from home - it's hard with both of us being at least an hour away from Alan when working. At least my MIL is 20 minutes from his daycare in an emergency.
