Took Alan shopping tonight.
In summary - no luck at Stride Rite, Alan wasn't in the mood and the ones I liked were out in his size 11. Gymboree didn't have the pants. We discovered there was a Thomas World (as in Thomas the Tank Engine). Very tiny but had lots of stuff. Bought Alan some socks (never seen socks around). Got him out and checked out Disney (not much on clearance). Hit KB Toys found the James Push and Go I'd wanted forever (he has the Thomas and Percy, the 4th one - Sir Topham Hat is VHTF and not the same as the other 3 anyway)

(All of the images of this online are from australia or the UK....)

We went to Sears briefly, lots of clearance, Alan wasn't interested.

Then I decided to stop in the other Gymboree on the way home. It was totally quiet as usual at night. Alan watched TV and voila they had these pants in 3T:

to go with this shirt for his school photo

I would have prefered 3, but I think the wider longer crotched 3t's will work with the adjustable waist. Alan is thin, I've been buying 3's.

And this in person is quite ugly

It's just washed out looking and looks cheap. The other dog tees look similarily blah!

TGIF tommorrow!

Hehe! I work in Gymboree in KS. I agree, I don't care for the dog screen print shirts, especially for the price.

How did you manage to do all that shopping with Alan? My kids couldn't have stayed out that long. They'd have been cranky even with Thomas as a distraction.

He's used to going to stores. He doesn't ALWAYS want to go, but he will stay with me more than he used to. At least he doesn't tend to bolt and run off as he's done in the past. We did stop in a cooking store which was sampling like crazy but he didn't want ANY of the crackers or pretzels I offered him (I left off whatever they were sampling to go on them.)

He is particularly used to the second gymboree. It's a quiet mall, very upscale. It's quiet in the gymboree, he will move inside the store or watch the TV. He knows exactly where we are going once we get there.

I also prefer to take him to less crowded malls in case he does get restless. I stayed out of our largest mall - I don't think I've been there with him since he's been strollerless.

Man! My son has one outfit that he will wear voluntarily. I had to buy 3 of them. No fair! I want to buy cute outfits for my kid too.

Alan really doesn't care much about clothes. I still have to dress him. About the only clothing he really cares about was a thomas t shirt.

He's actually a lot like his dad who will wear the same thing forever until it wears out.

Nice outfit. My boss' daughter works for the Gymboree here.

Heh - we had picture day a few weeks ago. I just have them take their pictures together, because as cute as they are, I can't pay for nor do I need three sets of shots (alone + together) I had Rachel all dressed in black velvet with embroidery...and of course come that morning, Ryan *refused* to wear anything other than one of his Thomas shirts. So their picture is a ... um ... study in contrasts :-) To sum up - I like that outfit, specially the shirt with the boat wheel!
