lesliepearWe had a good weekend.
Saturday we stopped at a church fair. Found a couple of toys for Alan to
keep at my mother-in-law's house: one of those popcorn popper push toys
for .25, an interesting driving thing with seat and pedals (barely used)
for 1.00 (its for an older child, we tried to prop Alan on it, he can't
reach the pedals), it's got a little car on a screen that moves when you
turn the wheel, the 2 pedals make noises and there are buttons on the
wheel that make noises and a shape sorter plastic toy. Oddly enough there
were exactly *2* items of baby clothes there, one too small, the other
too big!
It's funny, we used to avoid the sales with kid stuff, now I'm seeking
them out!
Yesterday, we went with my mother-in-law to visit friends of my
mother-in-law who moved to a retirement community about an hour and a
half away. Alan was very good and liked their house (it has a lot of
windows and is very sunny). He lay on the floor happily while DH played
the piano and didn't mind the walk around the nearby flea market that we
did. He was even good while my mother-in-law, DH and I ate at Hometown
Buffet (yum!) on the way home. Alan's actually been there twice. The last
time he slept the whole time, this time he slept about 3/4 of the time we
were there. He even was pretty good with his bedtime, although he STILL
flops on his tummy before he falls asleep and then gets REALLY histerical
when he wakes up that way (it seems to take him a few minutes to stop
crying.) I hope he figures out how to roll back soon.
I took some photos yesterday. I'll forward the link soon.
I decided to try to work from home today with the pending storm (I'm
supposed to go the office today). I took Alan to daycare, but myself or
DH (who is also working at home) will get him when the weather turns bad
(it's 5 minutes away in a house, so there is no pressure of a center
closing).
