Does anyone here take it?
It's got me wired...I only have 5 days of it though.
I did take it when expecting Alan, I don't remember being wired but hungry.

I get a little nervous as my dad was on it for a long time with his emphasema and it (in his opinion) depressed his immune system. I doubt a 5 day period does though.

Guess I'll try to sleep now.

My dog used to take it, and always gained weight and fought more. At the same time, a friend was on it for her asthma, and she also gained weight and was more aggressive/crabby.

I got my dog on medrol instead. Still a corticosteroid, but milder. Less fighting. But he had long term allergy problems.

Like the first comment, I've been on massive doses of solumedrol as well, and done a few tapers of regular pred as well. It IS a nasty drug to deal with sometimes. Jittyer, aggitated, wired, are all par for the curse. Best part is that all goes away pretty fast when you stop taking it.

5 days won't suppress your immune system. It DOES however, often (most times) make people jittery, or anxious, or irritable. It revs up the metabolism, so sleep may not be something you'll get a lot of over the next few days. In SOME cases (NOT TOO COMMONLY), people can get psychotic. If you haven't yet, though, you are probably ok. I had one patient who was taking a week long dose for poison ivy tell me that he saw slinkys on his ceiling!
