Amazingly, I have been at this job for 4.5 years as of today.
This is now probably the second longest I’ve ever had a job.
The other longest times I’ve ever had a job were:

Wang Labs (9/1985-5/1989) – laid off as Wang declined
Interim/Spherion (8/1997-11/2001) – basically laid off due to 9/11.

The shortest job (professional) was:
Pixel Computers (6/1984-7/1984) – hired in 4/1984 before graduation, laid off after 3 ½ weeks due to company money troubles, the start up folded by December 1984.

Alan woke up in a good mood today. His forehead has finally healed up – no more scrapes or need for a bandaid. The Nexcare waterproof ones I got seem to have kept his hands off (or perhaps it was because they had the “Cars” stuff on them.)

His communication skills are getting better and better. He still likes his TV a bit too much and needs to go to bed earlier but he can ask for specific stuff and tell you things as well as do pretend play. I had a mega blox dragon and knight I’d had put aside for whatever and he saw it. So I opened it last night and he had fun playing with it, flying the dragon with the knight on it.

Tonight we go out to dinner with my MIL. We were going to do so last night, but it was going to rain just as I got home late. Her birthday was yesterday. Tomorrow, Alan gets a haircut that he needs for the summer and we have to go to my SILs to hook stuff up for her (at least it’s all in 1 place for now).

I'm glad to hear Alan is doing well. Sorry I don't comment much, but I don't have much to say. :)

I have days like that too - it is just nice to have friends out there on the net :)

The computer I took to college with me was a Wang. It had no hard drive. Dual disk drives, I thought it was so cool. Hah!!!!

Actually Wang's strength was word processing. They bombed in the PC market. Their downward slide through the late 80's is what led to my layoff. I think they totally went out in the early 90's.

I've never worked at any one place long term. Only maybe 2 years at the most.
Well except for my full time mom gig. lol

I am easily bored when it came to jobs and usually would switch companies.. I usually would regret it later but thats me for ya.

We know someone who has worked her way up at Bristol Meyers Squib since her college graduation over 20 years ago. But most people move around a lot. But almost all my changes since 1984 were layoffs, not my decision. So 5 years is a milestone, I used think I had a black clould of gloom and doom that came with me when I was hired.

What did he do to his head? Alie slit her fore head on the coffee table about 2 wks ago. It's finally healed shut and sadly I think it's a scar.

I don't know. He got a cut around Xmas (maybe a button scratched his forehead) and it never got a chance to heal it seemed - he pick at it or refuse a bandaid.

Right now it's still red there, but I plan to put mederma scar cream on it and it will fade.
