I just booked a trip for the 3 of us to Florida over Mother's Day weekend. (My mon is deceased, my mother in law doesn't mind, and I'll see my grandmother the next weekend). We'll visit my aunt and uncle on my late Dad's side and my Dad's SO while there. It will be interesting sleeping in the same room with Alan (DH is the world's worst sleeper, everything wakes him - but he doesn't snore :) ). I know the area (Pt. St. Lucie) well from my dad living there since 1995 (he passed away last year), so I know where everything we might need IS!
Any travel advice would be helpful. We are taking his carseat and car seat carrier as he still fits, and plan to buy formula, wipes and diapers when we get there. I need to get a better diaper bag (thinking backpack type) and possibly a food grinder. I plan to take my Isis pump for emergencies - I can check that, rather than taking the motor part of my Pump-In-Style and worrying about security. (The Isis would look like misc. plastic stuff if the bag was opened and they see the pieces...no one would figure it out unless you've used it.)
I took today off as we have a Passover Seder to go to tonight, took Alan to daycare and plan a massive clothes sorting of mine and Alan's stuff today - sorting stuff into: Winter Storage, Salvation Army, Pass on to MIL/SIL and just plain tyding.
Better go clean!

As a Florida vacationer...
Date: 2003-04-16 10:00 am (UTC)We went to Destin and had a fabulous time. The baby loved the pool and even the ocean, my pediatrician told me it was okay and we took her in the water(she was 6 mos at the time), bieng careful about salt water in the eyes.
Also if it is hot, make sure baby gets extra fluids, I use water with a splash of juice to flavor it up and she downs it. AND EXTRA FLUIDS FOR BREASTFE4EDING MOMMY!
Have a great time, you deserve it mommy..
