Teacher Gifts?

Alan will completing his first year in Preschool disabled very soon. I am super pleased with the teacher and the aide he has had and want to get them something nice. I know he also has a speech therapist - should I get her something also? (The class also has a Physical therapist and an Occupational Therapist but I don't know if Alan works with them).

I was thinking of something nice from the Bath and Body works sale. I also know they use a laminator on some the art projects, perhaps a gift certificate for supplies?

Every teacher I've ever met forks out tons of their own money for supplies because there is never enough money in the school system budget. I'm sure a gift certificate for supplies would be appreciated.

That, or a lifetime supply of Valium ;-)

I know most teachers will admit they have enough coffe mugs and things with apples and pencils on them! Unless you know they collect something specfic, or like someting in a big way, I'd opt for the gift certificates. You could call the school and ask who they usually order from and get them gift cards to that supply shop. It's probably a store they have a long wish list for already!

My mother was a teacher, and used to bring home a plethora of mugs, candles, bath products and picture frames home at the end of each school year. I'm sad to say that most were given away or sold in garage sales. Gift certificates, particularly for book stores or a place one would go ordinarily - not anywhere requiring a special trip - are a pretty good bet.

You can give the teacher flowers or a flower in a pot.
We often do this in Sweden.

I love when I get a gift certificate for book stores, starbucks, or a spa or even bath and body. These are always great. BOOKS are a teachers favorite.
