Riding on the bus

I am typing this on the 165 bus taking me to work - aren't Palms cool?

I really hate commuting-you never know what will happen. You can get traffic reports before you leave but they aren't always right. I even have the secret garage phone number for complaints -I got it looking for a lost item [I do that a lot!)
The handyman is coming tonight to check out putting up new wallpaper we bought.- it was 4,00 a roll at Home Depot. I hope we have enough - or we will paint the ceilings instead of papering them.
I think if I do this a lot I should eBay a real keyboad.
Big backup to the Lincln tunnel today for non buses - extra security checks on EVERY truck for the worl d economic forum. I'm not interested in the forum or protesting.

That is sooo cool leslie, writing your journal on the bus!! So i guess you managed to do it offline then, or do you have one of those really cool wireless palms??

No, this isn't a wireless Palm, but I sync with my PC on-line later in the day.

If only I could write off-line on the PC, but the LJ clients don't work that way. Unfortunately there are *2* of us, 2 PC's and one phone for voice and data - and my husband can't be convinced to get high speed access :(

Oh, that is so cool! I want a Palm client!

But that'd probably mean I need a new Palm. Mine is so old it says USRobotics on it. It's a Palm... one? Before they had numbers.

I'm sure it would work technically, but the old Palms probably don't have enough memory - mine has 8 MB.

You also have to download another program first called Avant Go. Its a neat program - it lets you download webcontent on the Palm. So I can read stuff like cnn.com, cnet.com, new york times on the bus.

Haven't heard of Avant Go. I presume it doesn't require wireless connectivity?

Yeah, you're probably right, memory would be a huge limiting factor. Mine has just under 1 meg.

You just have to be on the internet with your PC when you hotsync to use Avantgo
