Had a good weekend. Didn't do very much Saturday except a quick trip out so Alan would sleep...went to Buy Buy Baby (out of the diaper bag I wanted, used my 20% off to get another little summer thing, in 12 months...sizing is so weird*) And dropped some stuff of mine and Alan's at the Salvation Army, but their baby clothes were picked clean :(
Sunday, we and MIL and a friend (and another friend and her mom we met there) went to the Shad Festival in Lambertville, NJ. (My DH loves to go to fairs/festivals in a group!). We had a good time, but we got there late and didn't get to do much. Our friend's mom didn't get to eat shad. (We used to skip the fish, and used the trip as an excuse to walk to New Hope, PA and browse). It was warmer than expected, so I worried about Alan being warm. Also, our favorite place to eat on the New Hope side is now closed. It was a nice restaurant right on the water. I asked DH if we could buy it. We did visit the "cat" store, and the "hot sauce" store (all the hot sauces you could EVER try, and cold drinks for sale if needed!)
*Sizing: Alan is 6.5 mo old and appx 18lbs and 26+ inches. I have summer clothes for him in 6month to 12months depending on the brand, because I'm not sure how big he will get by August, plus we'd planned a trip to Florida in April (now May). Fortunately I only have a few 6-9 month summer things (Target, Children's place, both of which run small). I freely admit to being a clothes horse (and Gymboree/Old Navy/eBay addict) for him. It would have probably been 100x worse if I'd had a girl, whose wardrobe would be all PINK.! Alan has a lot of blue (cause it matches) and some yellow (Ilin, our daycare provider's 3 year old daughter says its her favorite color.)

Date: 2003-04-29 11:13 am (UTC)Do you find Gymboree to run big? I bought Alex a shirt there the other day and ended up with 12-18mos. He usually wears 18-24mos or 2T.
If this one's a girl, we're BROKE.
