This link has an address to send jar lids to for refunds. Not sure how they'll do it since I've long mislaid the receipt?

The article doesn't say anything about a requirement for a receipt. I'd guess that you'll just get the suggested retail price. Or if you can tell them where you got it, that store's usual price. You can probably also return it to the store where you got it. I doubt the manufacturer or the store will care much about the possibility that you bought it on sale.
