Last night we took Alan to Walgreens and Shoprite. This was the first time we'd put him sitting in a shopping cart. He isn't sitting well (kind of flops) but he did seem to enjoy the view at Shoprite. Maybe I need to get one of those shopping cart seat things.
Put him to bed with his acquarium on, under the quilt. Heard crying a little later, straghtened him out facing the top of the crib, recovered him, turned on the acquarium again and he fell back asleep. If only he could stay there all night. Somehow I end up getting him out the crib next to me at night (I don't even remember doing it a lot) and he nurses etc. with me the rest of the night :(
I've noticed Alan's idea of playing is waving a toy around or sometimes eating it. I tried to get him to play with the Lamaze acqarium which has 3 little things that can fit in it. He'd rather wave around the whole tank :(
This morning we watched Sesame Street. It's very up to date - Elmo gets e-mail! The letter of the day was H - with a James Brown animated collage singing. After the singing Alan made this kind of "haaar" noise. Probably just cooindicidence, but it was a letter H "word".
Tonight I have to go out after work with colleagues. To a bar with h'ord derves (or however you spell it). Not my choice of going out, but it was a reward for closing 2000 problem tickets in 6 weeks or so. DH will have to take care of Alan. It may not be done the way I want, but they'll have fun.

Date: 2003-06-06 09:42 am (UTC)Its only recently he took to the acquarium at all. When he was littler (2-3 months) he'd cry when it was on. He preferred the music from the kick and play piano. When that didn't fit in the crib so well, we used some CD's - then after getting the acquarium replaced (it stopped working) one day he took a liking to it, and just last week I discovered if we cover him with a blanket put the acquarium on he'll fall asleep with no fusses.

Date: 2003-06-06 10:34 am (UTC)Zakkary recently (4 months tuesday) loves the Baby Mozart DVD... we had been showing him SO SMART for about one month now and just purchased this DVD.
We originally weren't going to do the TV thing... but he loves it.
We also have a lightshow on the ceiling for whenever he's ready but that doesn't seem to be quite yet.
