Yesterday morning I ran errands - stopped at the library and cleaners. Then went to Gymboree to check out the sale that I'd heard was rumored. I got a basic polo shirt for Alan but the better sale stuff was some really cute layette from the "Fly With Me" line I got for a co-worker expecting a boy soon. No piece I got was more than 5.98 - one was 1.99. I just need to find the matching socks to complete the gift.
Then to Target, where I actually got very little other than zyrtec-d from the pharmacy and some school snacks. No bargains, nothing left in 75% off toys.
After lunch I finally started to clean Alan's room. 3 hours later a good 1/2 is done - books and toys organized, outgrown ones put aside, broken ones trashed. More to do today but it was a good start.
After that we headed out to get a new DVD burner as one of mine was acting weird. We stopped at Dollar Tree along the way and Kohls to return some stuff. No luck at Best Buy or Circuit City (they seemed expensive, wasn't sure why - we just wanted a simple one, not a Blue-Ray HD one). Then we hit Micr -Center. With help we found one for 30.00 - we needed an older style one with an IDE interface not the new PATA/SATA ones (I didn't know things changed, we had our PC's for so long, I've never researched it). Micro Center is very interesting and quite geeky - you can get every part you need to build a PC, even the screws. They even sell cafinated drinks to fuel you while you build or game! I'm glad it's near but not too near, it made me feel inspired to build one! I think we will back when we need something, even the blank DVD/CD prices were pretty good.
Today I woke up with a cold. Felt blah, went to my MILs to pick up/drop off things. Came home and managed to clean up the "junk" drawers in the kitchen. And then I fixed the dishwasher - found my screwdriver that fits and opened the 2 plastic trap things and cleaned them out as food was stuck in them. (We need to rinse dishes better). It should clean better now.
Chased DH and DS out and took a nap and now will go back to tyding Alan's room. Plan to watch Bruce's 1/2 time show at the superbowl tonight. Don't care at all about the game though - barely know the Cardinals or Steelers players.
