Incommunicado

lesliepearWeird day at work. Felt very disconnected.
First of all when I'm connected to the VPN, I can't send e-mail on my home account. I think the port is blocked or something. (I have an e-mail to our IT about it).
Then the work e-mail went down. Badly. It still isn't back. IT said they sent a message out it would be down a while after I e-mailed from the account back and forth them. I guess they figured those who had e-mail that worked and blackberries would tell the others. Not useful those who are at home or offsite.
Then I tried to work outside for a while. For some reason the VPN wouldn't connect on the laptop for a bit. So back inside I went.
It was nice to be home though. I rested my foot a lot, will see how it is tommorrow - think I overdid it yesterday. So far, I've retaped the toes every day. The nurses bandage didn't stay, mine haven't been much better. At least I have sandals on today, not flip flops. It also didn't help that on Saturday an ice pack fell out of the freezer while I was getting something and landed just to the right of the bad toe!
We had a lot of people over for a BBQ yesterday which was nice. I also ran out with a friend to get some freecycled books. Unfortunately even with 4 boys here, not many found homes - some are being saved for a neighbors little girl, but our library will get a nice pile for the book sale. Still it is better than all the books going in the trash!
DH and Alan should be home soon with some stuff from the store (managed to run out of paper towel AND toilet paper from our stockpile) and some free grilled chicken from KFC. (Probably eeh...but it's free!)
One more day at home, then back to work if foot permits wednesday.
