Been busy the past few days.
Thursday - took off work. Alan crawled off the end of the bed when I wasn't watching. Got a bump on his forehead and a scrape on the side of his nose. He seemed ok after a while. So I went shopping with him, then Alan, DH and I went to a buffet with a friend. Alan ate a few things. More errands later and to bed.
Friday - went to the July 4th parade in a neighboring town. Alan was pretty good during the whole parade but started to fall asleep at the end. Just as he was falling asleep, the parade end went by with the firetrucks honking and tooting and making noise. He let out a very loud cry. Fortunately he fell asleep again and slept all the way back to the car, even when we crossed the end of the parade again as we walked back. Later we went to friends for a BBQ and he saw his "cousin" Jeff. Alan still seems more social than Jeff (who is 5 months older), I don't know if if it is due to Alan being in daycare (the other boy is usually with 1 parent or the other), or his personality or ???
Saturday - we went down to the Jersey Shore. My cousin rented a beach house and joined a nearby beach club. We had a good time there. Alan was a little cranky from the heat or teething, but he did love the kiddy pool (about 1" deep and warm). He floated in his float and kicked and had a good time. We went for burgers and ice cream later before we headed home. Alan loves vanilla ice cream!
Sunday - Rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned the carpet. Also, when we got home Saturday a shelf had broken on my old bookcase. So I ran to Ikea in the heat in my hatchback car and got 2 new ones - one about 3 feet, the other one 8 foot. I had to drive on the NJ turnpike with my hatch tied open to get the big book case home. But I made it. Now all the parts are in my living room waiting to be assembled. (There was NO way to carry it in the condo in the box, it was over 90 lbs!)
Today - Alan didn't seem himself this morning. He coughed and sounded wheezy/congested. Fearing asthma I took him to the doctor when they opened. He just has a upper respitory slight cold, chest, ears throat fine. I can give him tylenol for fever. elevate the head of his bed and use a humidifier (not doing that, already humid here). He's a little clingy but seems better now. I also put a tiny bit of vics vapo rub under his nose, and want to get some vapor bath later. I can't work from home today due to the (#*$*(#$* policy so I had to take today off.
