Alan update
Jul. 30th, 2003 09:25 pmHe took it easy this afternoon. Two naps - I got him to take a bottle before bed, I switched to one of the Gerber ones I had with the smaller nipple rather than the Avent I usually use. He ate yogurt for dinner. But I couldn't ice the bump, he'd cry when I tried to put ice on.
I'm taking tommorow off to take him to a pediatric dentist. There's one in the next town. Since we don't have dental for him (we do for us - we figured we'd save since he wouldn't go to the dentist until age 2 or 3), I'm going to try to sign him up with a dental savings plan (www.dentalsavings.com) and then go. We only need it till December (open enrollment) or if I change jobs. (DH and I don't agree on our own dentists - he had a problem with mine and I don't know DH's recent find - so a pediatric dentist is best). Hopefully the dentist will check the top teeth (I hope they stay) and let me know when I can go back to giving Alan harder foods like his Gerber wagon wheels and other things he's started to chew.
His pediatrician called today and asked how he was doing and Nadia (day care lady) also called. I don't think we will do anything - it was an accident on her part, not intentional and she was really really sorry.
I think it has hit me now, as I'm very sad. I didn't want to get upset for Alan's sake earlier but it was hard to see him bloody and in pain and to try to hold him for X-Ray's which they ended up not taking anyway.
