lesliepear: (hi)
Working from home today as Alan has an OT appointment tonight (with the one the school OT recommended). She was pleased with the evaluations I faxed over and will help us work with Alan so he keeps his skills up. If he still needs OT in the fall, we'll turn it back to the school at that point (assuming we can, I've heard IEP's for OT only are tricky).

Seems like it t-storms almost every day lately. I never know whether to water my flowers or not - I'd rather not water if it will rain.

Not sure what we are doing over the weekend. We are having a BBQ on Friday after going to the July 4th parade in a neighboring town. We probably won't do fireworks because Alan gets scared of the noise. Saturday, we will go to my cousins for dinner. And Sunday we will drop by the "block party" a local mall has, leaving before the fireworks. Hopefully we'll get some swimming in too - and I need to stop by my MIL's to fix her printer, I'm the family tech support :)

Yesterday I stopped in Gap and Children's Place on the way home - didn't find anything on sale for Alan. But had an amusing musical experience. In Gap, all of a sudden I heard the Jimmy Neutron theme (a variation of it) while shopping over the instore music. Then when I went to Children's Place, they played a Naked Brothers Band song - one I knew very well from playing the CD a lot in the car. Scary I knew the stuff!

Alan still loves Thomas The Tank Engine. Lately, he's been taking DVD's with permission to daycare. Then he complains when he gets home the girls didn't want to watch Thomas, but High School Music or other girl movie (and they won apparently). Yesterday they all watched Thomas and he was happy. I think Alan will be the last boy to give up Thomas - despite him being one of the oldest in his class. This past Saturday they'd had a Thomas playdate at Toys R Us and he was the oldest one there when we went - he was happy to play with the train table still. (I think I'll miss Thomas also, he's been a part of our life over the past 3+ years and is a lot cuter than the big boy Pokemon and Yugio things.)

Anyway, I should get back to work.

I just realized tommorrow would have been my 20th(!) anniversary if I were still married to my ex. I occasionally wonder if he's turned his life around and is having a good life (he was a gambler, alcoholic, immature and cheated on me and had a child!) I've looked for him on the net, but don't think he's out there and is still living with my ex-MIL on Staten Island as far as I can tell.
