Alan: Plays games on the computer and watches videos on You Tube. Thinks nothing of checking ESPN.com for sports recaps (and he's 7 1/2).
Us: Check e-mail, surf - don't really play games
Me: Buys stuff on eBay
Alan: Looks on eBay, can't buy yet
Me: Had Fortran programming class in high school
Alan: Has had computers since kindergarten. Will be learning Word next year.
DH and I got into computers in our 20's, so we are comfortable with them - I am a software tester. Alan will grow up with them. It's like us vs. our parents generation with TV - it came later for them, we were used to it (even if it started with a few channels and in black and white!)
