A milestone and a concert
Aug. 27th, 2008 01:24 pmToday was Alan's last day of daycare at the place he's attended from just before his 2nd birthday. It was sad for me, but I don't think he gets it. We've got a week of vacation to cover before school starts on 9/8. I got a photo this AM of Alan and some of his classmates. Two of them will be going to kindergarten elsewhere than our town, he'll miss them.
Last night we attended a free concert at the Paramus library with Alan's friend Alan and his family. (We met this summer at another concert there, his mom and I were both calling Alan in the library - turns out we are a good matchup on the parent and child level.) Pete Seeger was performing at age 89. He was playing with his grandson Tao and an African-American blues guy. He sounded pretty good, but Alan (actually both Alans) were bored - a little slow for them I guess. The concert was crowded (300 people) but very short - started at 6 PM, they came on around 6:15 PM and it was over at 7:15PM. I'm glad I got to see him - it reminds me of the Lionel Hampton concert DH and I saw a few years ago (which had horrible sound on Mr. Hampton) or the Gene Krupa concert I saw with my dad years ago in Oceanside Park (I don't remember much about it though).
