It was a good and bad vacation. I think Alan had a good time despite everything.
First the "bad" stuff:
I managed to lose a hat of Alan's, his Tigger toy, and my passport on the trip :(
My late dad's girlfriend was kind of cool to us, and pressured us to get the stuff we'd left with her out of her garage. I took back what we could, left 2 things at my aunt and made arrangement for her to ship the rest (dishes, some paintings) to my mother in law's for storage. She didn't give us much time to do this alas. I think she's found another boyfriend (I'm ok with that) and is moving on. One dish broke on the way back - TSA opened up one of our suitcases and that may have caused it to break (or I didn't pack so good - not sure).
I had a clogged duct, but it cleared up.
The flight back was rough, we had no seat for Alan and the descent was rough and he cried a lot. Not as much as the toddler girl across the way. Fortunately the person next to us liked babies and didn't complain.
I tried to get in the jacuzzi at the motel and slipped with Alan in my arms. He didn't fall in, but the towel covering him got wet. No harm to him, but I've got a bruise on my rear :( We didn't go in with him after that, only DH went in the rest of the time - it was too hot for Alan!
I brought our car seat, but not the base and it was a PAIN to keep strapping it in the rental car :(
Now the better stuff :)
He did very well while away - maybe 15 minutes of crankiness. He slept with us in the king size bed not in the porta-crib. He didn't like it, and I didn't think it was safe.
My aunt (late dad's sister) and uncle adored him. Both my aunt and uncle were doing better and were SO thrilled to see him! We took photos.
Alan liked the pool, the ocean and the beach. He tried to crawl in the sand. He also tried to eat the sand :)
Someone thought Alan was a Gerber baby when I was getting some baby food in the supermarket.
When we went out to eat with my aunt and uncle, everyone in the restaurant adored him. He even got a balloon, which we played with a lot in the room. It made him laugh a lot!
All 3 of us are going to Reading, PA on Friday for a business meeting for DH. We are not sure if we will stay over or not. My MIL is coming also - we will leave DH and his client so they can meet with a buyer for DH's client's business (so DH can get paid hopefully) and go perhaps with the client's wife to the outlets. So it's a rough week!
Got to log into work now (working from home today fortunately).

I had to change Alan twice on the plane coming back from Florida. I noticed the table pulldown on the toilet had NO strap. I decided to e-mail Continental about this as I think a strap would be helpful if you hit a turbulent bump while flying. I also decided to e-mail a favorite restaurant of ours about their lack of tables in the bathrooms.

There was no table in the restaurant we went to in Florida, so he had to be changed on the sink (someone helped me) - but I don't think they get a lot of babies there. I've also seen places where the changing table is in the handicapped stall, it is hard to find it there, but useful to park the stroller in while changing (and easy for mom to go if she has to also).

What experience have others had with changing tables while out and about?
