Everytime I go by Toys R'us - I keep hearing this tune in my head from the latest Joe Jackson CD - volume 4.

I keep wanting to change the words to fit :)

Kitchen:
Wallpaper
Paint
Stain and install chair rail
New stove (well, new to us anyway - ours is from the 70's original to the place)
New dishwasher (well, new to us - ours is 13)
Replace outlet/switch with new parts and covers
Install fan light
Tile floor (?)
New knobs for cabinets
New stove fan hood (already done!)

Second bathroom:
New wallpaper - paint celling instead of wallpaper
Paint trim
New knobs for cabinet
New light switch/outlet
New rug

Master bathroom: (major projects!)
New fan (done!! yes a working fan again!)
New wallpaper
Paint trim and medicine cabinet
Paint ceiling
Retile shower to get rid of mold problem
New shower doors/drain/fixture with hand sprayer
Replace outlets and switch
New cabinet knobs
New countertop/sink/faucet (alas I spilled something on the old one, anyway the black fake marble is ugly)

Other:
Replace dining room/living room/hall carpet with wood (maybe later)
Repaint rest of walls white (fresh paint, hasn't been painted in 10+ years)
New patio furniture (for spring - nothing expensive, but old rusty metal isn't safe) Also plant flowers this year.
Replace master bedroom A/c (I think its going, DH doesn't agree)

We found a handyman who has already started work - he got rid of the dead fan and the kitchen wallpaper is stripped and the hood installed. We still need to move because its a 2 bedroom but it will look a lot nicer. We are keeping costs down (the wallpaper was Home depot clearance bought in 2002 - and we are leaving all the cabinets - we like walnut and they are in fine shape, knobs are cheap.) We wouldn't be replacing the master bathroom counter if I hadn't spilled something on it.

It's Monday? I guess that's good?

Saturday, we went with the handyman to Lowes to pick up supplies. Came back and wanted to take Alan out to nap and go to Toys R' Us and Bed Bath and Beyond for stuff. Needed a new vacuum at BBB. Got to TRU, DH called had to go to Home Depot for supplies to get the bathroom fan in (which was #1 priority). So finished at TRU (but left debit card there, have to go back to get it tonight) went back to Home Depot, got stuff after waiting to reach DH to confirm what was needed. Went home. Helped DH to find stuff - he had p**p problems, tossed laundry in washer...had to got out again to exchange stove hood at Lowes. Went there, had to get other stuff there to including knife to cut sheetrock (which took for ever to find). Got back, ate a late dinner, had to drive handyman back home - and had to wait for laundry to dry. Then at 11, DH was having problems with Excel on the computer - had to find office 97 CD, but reinstalling fixed it fortunately. I was tired from doing all the running around. I was using DH's car as mine was in the shop for new tie rods unexpectedly. (Dropped it friday for a noise, didn't expect it there all weekend) but I didn't have my key for DH's car - it was on the chain with mine at the mechanic. So I kept borrowing his and never remembering where I'd put it :(

Sunday when I woke up, I was tending to Inky as she was mewing. Then DH needed me, then Alan woke up. Had to go to Shoprite to get medicine for DH's sore butt as we couldn't find the one in the house. Was there at 7. Then the dunkin donuts there had no coffee - so I went to the nearby one (cheaper) on the way home. Then we packed up to drive Inky 2-3 hours to Chatham NY to her new home. Got a little lost on the way, missed a turn. We stopped at a farm stand called Love Apple Farms. The daughter of the owner is the Terminatrix in T3. Her photo was up a lot, and you could get a autographed calendar of her for 12.00. Was able to call and get to the farm house. She has MANY animals (dogs, cats, horses), the place smells a little, but Inky will be ok with her and her family. Went back to the farm stand, got cider and potatoes, headed home. Stopped at a Hometown buffet for lunch for all of us. Alan didn't eat as much cheesecake as he did the last time but he enjoyed himself. Drove home from there...I had to ALL the driving with DH's sore butt. Got home. Started to clean the bathroom from Inky being stuck there for over a month. DH needed different medicine. Back to the store...I was trying to clean so he could use the tub...grrr...Got medicine, finished cleaning tub. Found lost medicine in the bathroom while cleaning. DH took a bath. Alan and I took a bath! Yeah! Needed DH to watch Alan a few minutes while I got stuff out. He did a few minutes and then HAD to answer a work e-mail (he's self employed). Grrr.. So I had to put Alan in the crib to make the bed. Ended up giving Alan his bedtime bottle. Intended to flop on bed watching tv while doing this. DH was lying down trying to get his stuff ready (it hurt to sit.) Of course right in my way. But got him to move. Alan had a hard time going to sleep because he slept most of the day. But eventually after nursing etc, he did get tired and fall asleep (around 10). I then quit for the night, I was wiped.

This AM, drove Alan to daycare early. DH was supposed to on his way to work, but he was in too much pain. He went to the doctor and is going to a surgeon later. I guess I'll take Alan with me tonight while I do errands.

Hopefully he will feel better soon and with the house less stuffy (no litter pan in hall, working fan in master bath) he can help more - hes stayed in the second bedroom a lot due to the stuffyness the house caused him. I'm just frustrated - I need help.
