We've been trying to get stuff done in our little condo.
We finally got someone to lay down the tile floor in the 11x9 kitchen. Well, when he went to put it down, not all the tile matched - after I negotiated the tile seller from 600.00 to 350.00. So our friend who is helping with this stuff, is going to get extra tile from his house in PA, so we can't finish the floor till Friday. So the kitchen table and chairs are all over the living room and dining room, Alan's got no where to play...but it's for 2 days. (The house is so not childproof now) But what tile is down looks nice.

We have to get grout tonight if isn't raining. I had no idea it came in so many colors!

Holiday Shoes?

I need shoes for Alan's holiday outfit. I'd like Robeez/Bobux type in a 12-18 month (its hard to get tied shoes on him). Anyone have suggestions - the outfits are below:

Free Shoes :)

A week or so ago I ordered a pair of 4.5 INFANT Merrill shoes for Alan from Sportsauthority.com because they were charging 19.99 instead of Nordstrom's 29 and had free shipping. I thought it odd that they only had 4.5 and 5.5 not size 4 and 5, but figured the 4.5 would be ok for the winter with socks.

When they arrived, I thought it was a big box for an infant shoe. I opened the box and it was a size 4.5 BOYS shoe. I can wear a 4.5 boys shoe as my womens size is 6 or 6.5 and boys run 2 sizes smaller. There was a small scratch in the suede on one side, so I decided to return them. I wrote some e-mails of complaint about the mis sizing and that I shouldn't have to pay to return them since the website was wrong.

I got e-mail from Sports Authority today saying they've credited my account and I DON'T have to return the shoes. So now I have a free pair of Merrel shoes!

Alan still needs a black pair for the winter. I guess I'll go to Nordstroms.

How to help animals affected by the California Wildfires

The Orange County Humane Society in Huntington Beach (South Orange County)
is taking in a large number of dogs from San Diego rescues that are being
evacuated due to the fires. They are now extremely full and could use either
offers for temporary fostering or help in recruiting other area rescue
groups. Anyone interested in helping out can call the Orange County Humane
Society at 714-536-8480.

Also, Doberman Pinscher Rescue in Fillmore is preparing for evacuating and
needs to borrow as many large crates as possible. If you can donate, please
drop crates off at the Fillmore Animal Hospital at (702) 293-1993.

Also, the West Valley Shelter and the San Bernardino County Shelters are
desperately in need of volunteers to help with basic kennel cleaning duties.

(They are also on standby to evacuate if needed.) Many of their regular
employees are being called out in the field to deal with emergency rescues,
and these shelters are very short-staffed at the home front. Contact numbers
