My building's response to the threat level increase in NYC was to test the fire alarms. Again. They just tested them on Friday.
I hope they test the emergency lights on the stairs - in 2003 during the blackout, 1/2 of them didn't work. Going down 5 flights of stairs in the dark isn't fun.
