Blech

I feel ech today, tired, achy - haven't been getting a lot of sleep lately.

Tommorrow's forecast depresses me also - snow in the AM. One or both of Alan's schools could be cancelled. If daycare is open all day I'm ok (or if it opens late). If both close, I stay home. If daycare is open and the weather is icky, I might try to work from home.

Repairs in progress:
DVD/VCR - should arrive today. This means Mark gets his computer back and Alan will watch dvd's on the tv. this way he won't interrupt Alan in the middle of a cartoon to look something up (which *I* think could have waited and was rude - and it was on his PC, not the net, or he could have used my computer).

Windshield wiper arm - arrived at dealer, will get installed Saturday (all of 10 minutesat most!)

Microwave - not yet. I am hoping for Saturday.

Car - ready tommorrow. According to the dealer, the insurance won't pay past tommorrow. Well, I can't pick it up since they close at 5 and I leave work at 5:30 (if it weren't snowing). If it does snow so I'm home, I may be able to get the car. I can't even return the rental at night as I can't walk Alan to school with the impending weather :( (Mark said he'd cover if he had to though). I'll be glad to get my car back though. I will miss the power locks/windows/remote trunk opening. I will NOT miss the alarm I set off accidentally this AM.

One of my coworkers is out today and will miss the pot luck. Me, I've decided I will try everything - we have a multi-ethnic group - people are bringing curry, indian, jerk chicken, chinese, russian and Susan made her famous orange cake for dessert. I'm not fond of indian food, but maybe I've not had the right stuff.

I hope tonight goes better. Alan spends too much time watching tv at night as we both end up being busy and having stuff to do. And Alan doesn't want to eat dinner, but will eat before bed (he'll do almost anything to avoid bed except brush his teeth). So he winds up staying up later than I want. I keep saying to Mark that he shouldn't eat late and learn to eat when we do, but I keep losing the battle. I could so use a nanny's help in discipline, and shorter hours too.

Up too late

But a lesson learned. Mark picked up Alan tonight from daycare. He'd apparently hit another child during the day. Mark was upset, and Alan lost TV for the night. Guess what, he wined a little but was much calmer overall. He played with toys and ate dinner with us. I had him up later than I planned, I was distracted and lost track of time without tv. So I think we will cut back his tv time at night, even Mark thought that they were right about less tv. (Especially since he's been watching a lot of 60's more violent (not graphic but physical) cartoons lately.)

No word on a snow day or not tommorrow.

Three scenarios:

Normal day for all, but maybe a bad commute home
Alan has daycare and possibly the public school open, I work from home
No daycare, no public school, I'm off.

Mark would probably work at home if the weather's bad.

At least starting in a few weeks he'll be home 1x a week - maybe he'll work more that day and less at night. Whew.
