Oh my

I googled to see if I could find a photo of the complex in Oceanside NY I grew up in.
It cost 27,500.00 new in 1967.
We paid 29,000.00 in 1969 and assumed the mortage.
I do not remember what my dad paid when he sold in 1995 to move to Florida.

I could only find one listed - for 469,000.00 with 6400.00 in taxes.

Alan's first field trip

I got a note home about Alan's pre-k class trip at the end of the month. They are going to the nearby zoo (Van Saun, for those who know my area) and seeing the annual opening of the butterfly exhibit. I think he'll like that, he may actually STOP and LOOK at the animals this time. So I think I am going to take the day off and go with him (either on the bus or not). I might even ask my MIL to join us as she lives 5 minutes from there.

Actually looking at the district calendar the pre-k, k, and 1st grade classes all go on zoo trips this month - K and 1 just go to further away zoos (Turtleback zoo and the Bronx zoo). The second grade class has a trip to Montclair State University (not sure why) and the 8th graders go to Washington DC.
