Ugh. I think I still have that congestion/cold thing I've had the last few days. Today, at least I am working from home, because Alan has a 6:30 dentist appointment. I'm tired and spacy (maybe because I ran out of Xanax XR last week and decided to try without it for a bit) - I've had a bit of insomnia though.
It's really DARK and gray out. I suspect it will rain. Of course I watered the plants last night.
I'll post about the last 2 days later, when I wake up.
Must drag self into shower, get dressed and dress and drop Alan at daycare.
And do WORK today (boss being a pain, needs documenation).

Yummy Salad
Jul. 5th, 2006 07:35 pmI had this at the playdate Monday. Sounds weird but kind of tastes like a creamy salad:
You will need:
LETTUCE
CELERY - diced ( i left it out on this batch )
GREEN PEPPER - diced
ONION - diced
PEAS ( i use the very young small canned ones and have tried others but like these the best in this salad for some reason)
CHEDDAR - grated / shredded ( i took the easy way this time and used a microplane and found it worked great for this)
BACON - cooked crisp and crumbled
Mayo and sugar
Here what you do ...
layer the ingredients in your bowl as such covering each layer with a layer of the the next ingredient: ( the only tricky part is spreading the mayo without grabbing up all the peas - a bit of a challenge )
Lettuce, celery, green pepper, onion, peas, then cover with a layer of mayo (which can be LITE mayo and does NOT need to be very very thick - just a cover )
Sprinkle the layer of mayo with sugar - not tons of it just a light sprinkling over whole layer -- then add the cheddar - top with bacon and let sit ... I always make this the night before i am planning to have it so i suggest overnight - but it very well MAY be ready sooner so early morning may be ok for dinner time use).
MIX WELL AND ENJOYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMM
1 bag snack sized Snickers; 1 small bag apples; 12 oz whipped cream/Cool Whip; 8 oz cream cheese; 1 can Sprite
Dice Snickers into bite-sized pieces and put in freezer until needed (or overnight). Dice apples and put into a bowl with Sprite. Blend the whipped cream and cream cheese until creamy. Drain apples and add cream cheese mixture to apples. Once apples are coated mix in Snickers. Save a few to decorate the top.
Takes 10 minutes to make - use about 7 or 8 small green apples.

Growing up!
Jul. 5th, 2006 09:36 pmThis morning he ran one of his Thomas trucks into some play food - he called to me that Thomas was stuck on his way to the station (the basket to the food upside down) - first time I've heard him verbalize pretend play.
Tonight he had a dental visit. He was pretty calm, the dentist ALMOST got an x-ray (he wouldn't hold the xray in his mouth) and let the dentist peek into his mouth. Oddly enough he didn't want stickers or a toy from the toy chest. Unfortunately, the dentist said the top tooth is loose and will probably fall out soon, leaving Alan with 6 missing teeth (top and bottom) from his babyhood fall.
And tonight we had chicken soup - which he never ate before, he wanted some and ate some (mostly noodles, but still).
Bedtime :)
