I often pass the Broadway theaters as I walk from the bus to my office. Today as I was passing the theater where "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" will be playing, a back door was open and I could see some of the sets - which looked just like the animated cartoon. I should have used my camera phone.

I had a call from the place I had my mamogram yesterday. It said to call and ask for any nurse. It turned out to be just my results which were to go back in 6 months, but they could have worded it better.

I had a former colleague come in for an interivew. He interviewed well and would like the job. I hope it works out.

I need to write a long post about the weekend. We did tons, and it wore me out!

The weather looks good for Alan's party Sunday - a little cool, but sunny. I really didn't want to deal with a rain date. I think I have about 8 so far - mostly from his class in school, plus my friend and her son and a former neighbor and her daughter. I think it will come together nicely - 2 more trips needed - to the Dollar Store and Walmart and 1 last minute Sunday run for balloons!

There is news of a small plane or helicopter crash at 71st and York Avenues.
(Correction - it's 525 E72nd Street - a 50 story residential apartment building)
I work on 6th Avenue between 46th and 47th - I'm fine.
That area is near Sloan Kettering hospital.

Rough Day

It was weird seeing the story of the plane crash unfold this afternoon. It finally turned out to be Cory Lidle of the NY Yankees and his flight instructor who were in a plane. Reminded me of Thurman Munson's fatal crash in the 1970's. (And odd that the Yankees found a way to make the news, overshadowing the Mets who are still in the playoffs (even though they were rained out tonight).

Then on the way home there was a limo on fire on Rt 495 - my bus took the service road and all I saw was the smoke - black at first, then white as the fire was put out. I hope no one was hurt.

I'm glad I'm working from home tommorrow.
