After a long day at work (I am very stressed and don't have a lot of energy right now) and a mysterious delay at the bus terminal I'm finally relaxing.
I went at lunch and bought a strap for the dishwasher to keep Alan from opening it. And a Dora The Explorer DVD for Alan. He loves the show, my sitter has told me. He also sat and stared at the TV at our friends house when we were there Sunday and it came on (she has Noggin, which we don't have). So I got the DVD. I put him in the crib while I tried to get the DVD working. Had to swipe batteries from another remote to get the DVD one working (we rarely watch DVD's). When Dora came on, Alan held up a finger and said "Diya!" He basically watched the whole episode even after I got him out of the crib, staring. I think he's got a crush on her, or she looks like Ilin, the sitter's daughter.
It's too bad most of the Dora the Explorer stuff is marketed to girls, while Sponge Bob is slanted toward boys. If Alan did ever want a Dora, I'd let him have one.

Date: 2004-03-24 07:17 pm (UTC)For some reason I'm not fond of Sponge Bob. He's not as bad as Scooby Doo whom I really dislike. If Alan ever liked these characters, I'd let him have stuff. But since he doesn't express an opinion, I won't buy them. (That also includes Barney, although I didn't make a fuss when someone gave him a Barney book.)

I've never seen it, since we watch enough TV already! He loves Wiggles and Blue.
