Moxie :(

I don't think Moxie is doing very well. He's hiding and not eating (I've tried to force a little food down today, he had been eating up till the last day or so) - I do have a vet appointment tommorow night, and I sadly think he may not come home. He'll be 16 in August but I don't think he's been well the past few months. We've decided not to get another cat (Mark doesn't want one) for now, and there is no room for any other kind of pet here (even a fish).

And no matter how many times Mark says we have Alan now, it isn't the same, especially after almost 16 years (and having to rehome Inky at age 13 last fall).

There are 3 people on my friend's list who lost long time pets recently (and Moxie had met one of them) - it's really hard.

Oh, poor Moxie! I have my fingers crossed that you're mistaken about how serious it is. :-(

Losing a pet is really hard.

:(

I don't know how I'll handle it with the next one we lose.

Oh Leslie, I hope you're wrong about Moxie. I know exactly what you are going through - it is so hard. My thoughts are with you.

That's so tough. All of my family's cats have been getting much older in the past few years, and the eldest two have died. Lucky died two years ago, followed by Peeper last year. The rough part is just knowing that Reebok is only a year younger than Peeper, and his turn is coming soon (he's 16 now), and that Toad is only 2 years younger than Reebok.

:-(

you'll know what's right, leslie.
it is such a hard thing to do,
even when you realize it's the kindest
thing you can do for them.

*hugs to you and Moxie*

Have I ever met Moxie? Seems to me that I used to come over to your place in Massachusetts with [livejournal.com profile] karisu_sama and [livejournal.com profile] didjiman, and since they're both so highly allergic to cats, perhaps you hid Moxie away somewhere then?

Big hugs to you and Moxie!

No, having a kid, or two, or other dogs, is not the same. Each kid and campanion is unique.

Best of luck to you...

Oh, no. I really hope you're wrong and it's something the vet can fix.

And no matter how many times Mark says we have Alan now, it isn't the same

Of course it isn't. No one who doesn't love animals can understand that, either.

*hugs* if you want them.

I know how hard it is to watch a pet grow frail. Best wishes for Moxie.
