My husband sent through some photos of a coworker's daughter. She was wearing a shirt that said "Daddy drinks because I cry". What kind of message is that? (I know these were people who liked to go out and drink before their daughter was born).

Makes the shirts I have for Alan "Little Body Big Attitude" and "I may be small but I'm the boss" tame.

My dad and ex had drinking problems so I'm a little more sensitive about this kind of stuff -- but if I knew these people I'd have a little chat about that shirt.

Baby Wit pushes the envelope I think. Your Little Pagans is cute, I'd even have Alan wear some of the t's even though were not pagan :)

Wow, I know andrea from baby wit and she doesn't try to push the envelope at all. She is very concerned with what people think of her designs and she really doesn't want to anger people, she just wanted to offer an alternative to what everyone else had. I've had this exact conversation with her.
I don't want to sound mean, but just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean people don't have every right to put it on their children. A lot of people (myself included) think shirts like that are just funny and I can understand where it would bring up certain sensitivities.

Tastes in humor do vary, but this particular shirt is one that someone who has had family members with alcohol abuse issues won't find funny.

I grew up with an abusive alcoholic stepfather, I don't have a problem with it. I do agree though that some people who have certain family issues would find offense at it.
It's up to each person to decide how they want to dress, and each parent to decide how they want to dress their child. You have every right to dissagree with them, but it doesn't make them wrong.

I do disagree and won't have Alan wear that shirt. Nor would I be likely to buy other shirts from that company. But if someone else wants to, that's fine.

I just hope that people who chose this shirt aren't in denial about any alcohol issues they have.
