Oh my!

Today was Alan's birthday. I went out tonight to finally discard our ancient
kitchen trashcan by the dumpster. I spotted a huge bag of stuffed animals
behind the dumpster, so I brought it in to check it out. Some of it was
junk - birthday cards, crayons, girl toys, toys with missing or broken
parts - but we got 5 or so large stuffed animals (including a dog that takes
batteries, but it didn't work), quite a few happy meal toys: Mr. Incredible,
a few "the cat" or "the dogs" one yellow bug from lion king, and one of the
activision games as well as 2 neopets. We also found a buzz lightyear (sans
helmet) and a Mike the monster (the green one). There might have been a few
more things but I couldn't identify them. I also found extra post it notes
and a perfectly good mechanical pencil. So I went to take it back out and
found a few books on the ground also: Barney, an old nickelodeon show golden
book, and 2 Sid Hoff books. (There was a bible and santa claus book also -
no use for those). My best guess is that the toys etc belonged to the
visiting granddaughter of a couple in our building - perhaps mom tossed them
out here, so she wouldn't find them, or the grandparents were condo
cleaning. It was strange to see it all tossed out though.

Not sure what happened - I did see greeting cards and some artwork in there. I just saw the 2 grandchildren today visiting - I don't remember the girls name - the boy is Garrett, but his name wasn't on anything I'd found.

I used to clean out my room when I was younger and just throw things away. You can only have so many stuffed animals. I have 6 niece's so they used to get them all, if they didn't want them I either gave them to good will or tossed them. They may have just did some winter cleaning.

My first thought was that the stuffed animals were thrown out because of lice or fleas or something.. but I guess since there was other stuff in there, that wasn't the case. I hope it wasn't! I'm so paranoid about that stuff.

Just wash all the stuffed animals in hot water, that would get rid of either lice or fleas.

Kids do toss things out or it might be a nasty divorce and one parent doesn't want anything from the other parent in the house. Who knows. I hope it wasn't some sort of punishment and mom just pretended to throw the things out (follow through with the threat of if you don't pick up your toys, I am going to throw everyone on the floor out).

As far as the snark, disable anonymous posting, that would make them at least create a journal and have a name.
