I wrote some stuff my LJ today about Iraq and Alan being sick. No one commented :(

(I thought the majority my LJ friends have similar political views, so I was hoping someone one would notice.)

I'm just so very unsure of where I stand on the political front these days, that it is hard for me to comment. I DO think the whole protesting thing is rather absurd. It's not solving anything, and does send a highly charged EMOTIONAL message to the soldiers who are merely doing what they signed up to do. And they are brave to follow through with it. I think the only people who feel better for protesting so outwardly and vehementely are the protesters themselves.

Even watching protesting at abortion clinics and viewing protesting from the Vietnam era on documentaries gets me sort of confused. Protesting outside with mean/ugly/hateful poster boards seems to not really mean anything other than their personalities are coming out ahead of the principles of issues.

All in all, I'm thankful for people like your deceased friend, and by all means would feel the need to show my respect for such an awesome display of bravery.

Hope your baby is feeling better soon too!
