Jun. 4th, 2003 10:45 amUgh. I hate going into NYC 5 days a week. Especially on cold, rainy June days. At least my boss is out till tommorrow (he's at an overseas conference).
Sometimes I put the TV on for Alan when I shower and dress. Channel 21 WLIW (ch 3 on cable here) used to have Dragon Tales at 7 and Arthur at 7:30. I liked Arthur, sometimes I'd get distracted getting ready because I ended up watching it. They've switched shows recently. Now Arthur is at 7 and Cyber(something) is at 7:30. That's not really for Alan, its about science and math etc..so today I tried looking for something else, ch 9 has Pokemon or something like that..but CH 13 (WNET) has Sesame Street at 7:30. Perfect! And Alan seemed really into it. He liked Elmo's World which was about music (see..I got distracted again getting ready).
I started reading a book called "The Bug" by Ellen Ullman. It's about a software bug and a woman software tester (like me) in the mid 1980's when computing was wide open. Reminds me of my early years.
This weekend is looking SO busy. Saturday is a town wide garage sale in the town DH grew up in and my MIL still lives. Saturday night, dinner out with friends (with Alan hopefully, he should do better than his last dinner out when he was very tired and teething.) Sunday off to the Portugese Festival in Newark with DH and however many friends we can gather (DH loves to invite everyone to everything!). We went last year when I was pregnant. I couldn't eat ANYTHING as the BBQ'ed chicken smell made me sick...I did end up eating shrimp at a restaurant, but they'd left the heads on (YUCK!) and I can have sangria this year! Hopefully it won't be too crowded for Alan, it should at least be cooler.
Guess I should do some work :(
